There is a Y-DNA surname project under way with about 74 Couch men participating to date. This is an excellent opportunity to add to our research and we're all excited about the possibilities. Sorry Ladies, this test is for Couch MEN ONLY! For more information go to the Couch GenWeb site and click on "Couch Family DNA testing." The project administrator is Bill Couch and he has all the information you need to decide if this is for you. You can view results of different family groups identified so far.

We can now make Memorial contributions to honor an Ancestor and this will be added to the project webpage. Why not designate a donation for a select family member ...OR sign up yourself! There are several lines still in need of participants.

Tom is a life long resident of Booneville Kentucky and a member of the Owsley Co. History and Genealogy Society. He has a passion for finding any and all cemeteries in the county and is keeping a photo record transcription of each one. To date he has recorded more than 6,000 graves in 160 graveyards and has thousands of photos posted on his MyFamily site. Many of our families passed through Owsley County and you may find lots of connections there. Dianne is a southern Couch researcher who has done a wonderful job at her MyFamily website. She has an extensive collection of original documents for Couch families and many related others. You do need an invitation to visit so please feel free to email Dianne.
